About Our Church

Mercy Community Church is a multicultural church in Streamwood a Northwest Suburb of Chicago

In 1998, Pastor Auldon and First Lady Olieth Lightbourne felt a strong calling from the Lord and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the journey began. In subsequent weeks and months, both Pastor and First Lady Lightbourne had vivid dreams and visions of the future of the church. After discussing the matter with their Pastor, Bob Huerta, and receiving his affirmation and blessings, confirmation came through prophetic utterances by visiting ministers on separate occasions.

The Lightbourne family partnered with David and Nanette Sauceda, the first church service started in the Lightbourne's residence in August 1998. The church grew steadily in the first few years, as many families were converted. Within a few months the need for a bigger space arose and the location was changed to a local school auditorium. The first anniversary was joyous as many friends, families, and congregations celebrated with Mercy Community Church.

Over the years, many individuals have committed to ministry and experienced miracles and transforming power of Jesus. Mercy Community Church has become a "Family of Families" with people who have worked consistently, wholeheartedly, and passionately with the Lightbourne Family to sustain the work of the Lord in his region. Many of our families have been integral in forming the foundation of Mercy and are intrinsic to the future of the ministry.

Thy name, O Lord, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O Lord, throughout all generations. Psalm 135:13
